Cost of Living
Brisbane and the Gold Coast are two of the least expensive cities in Australia to live in. Accommodation costs are significantly less than in Sydney and Melbourne and compare favourably with the other capital cities. The cost of transport, food and entertainment is average for Australian cities.
A single student will need, in addition to the tuition fees and airfares, approximately A$15,000 - $18,000 per year for accommodation, text books, study materials, transport, entertainment and recreation expenses. The purchase of additional items like a car or computer are extra. A new small car costs at least A$14,000 and a second-hand costs about A$6,000, plus A$1000 for insurance and registration. A new computer costs A$1,500-$3,000.
The cost of living varies depending on the style of accommodation and the area lived in. Accommodation rental prices range from A$70 per week for a share house to A$350 per week for an inner city apartment. Incidental expenses such as transport, laundry, occasional restaurant meals, recreation and entertainment are likely to total A$1000. Once again this depends on personal interests, budget and location.
Note: these figures are estimates only and are subject to inflation and currency fluctuations.
وسلامتكم:87:
