The Prince gets the space shirts
Remember the 28th of April, when two shirts signed by Nedved and Del Piero became the first football shirts in the world to go into outer space? Well, on their return to Earth, they were auctioned off to raise funds for the children of the Sant'Anna Hospital in Turin. At the last minute, after an intense auction, His Royal Highness, the Saudi Arabian Prince Turki Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was the person who won them. The Prince, a Juventus supporter from way back, followed the sale on JuveStore.com very carefully, so as not to miss the chance to get his hands on his favourite players' “space” shirts.
The Prince received a special welcome to thank him, also on behalf of Sant'Anna's children, just before the season debut against Livorno. The shirts were handed over directly by the Captain and Nedved themselves, at the Principi di Piemonte Hotel pre-match retreat, in front of the Chairman of the RealDream Association (the association that organized the space launch). Afterwards, the Prince visited Juventus' headquarters and in particular the prestigious Trophy Room, where he met Managing Director Jean Claude Blanc in an atmosphere of great friendliness.
The day continued with a walk around the city centre, and a necessary stop for a fan at the Juventus Store in Via Garibaldi, where the Prince chose a few mementos to take back to his loved ones. Finally he was guest of the Club for the evening's match against Livorno, which ended in a feast of goals, making everybody happy.
