Most students consider the listening and speaking the easiest parts of the IELTS test. As we know that
Spelling words is difficult to many of us even native speakers of English have problems with spelling. For this reason I posted this topic and I hope you will find these information useful
First, in the listening section of the IELTS Exam, if you spell a word incorrectly then it is wrong. This is a list of the 1200 most commonly repeated words that you should know how to spell in order to avoid losing invaluable marks
Click here to download the file
The second thing, I would like to mention is that there are may ways to improve your spelling skill. For example, to reduce vowel mistake you could create your own sentences that have particular vowel letter patterns Ex: words that contain au .My aunt's daughter ate dinosaur meat the restaurant .Identity fraud and Money laundering are faults .Astronauts launched from Australia Even though these sentences are not logical, they serve their purpose of creation
The third point, knowing root words can help you to spell them correctly
:Ex hydro (Greek) water = hydropower, hydroelectricity، hydrogen astr or aster (Greek) star = asteroid, astronomy, astronaut aqua (Latin) water = aquarium herb (Latin) grass = herbivore، herbicide vore (Latin) eater = carnivore, herbivore، omnivore terr (Latin) earth = territory ped (Latin) foot = pedestrian, pedal scrib, script (Latin) to write = describe, script, subscription, inscribe cent (Latin) hundred = percent, centigrade In German. "Kinder" = children and “Garten” = garden == kindergarten Also understanding how to form nouns from verbs by adding the suffix and prefix is helpful
subscribe = subscription describe = description inscribe = inscription http://ekmekci.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Appendix-C.pdf
Finally, sometimes you find some works are difficult to spell, so in this situation if you separate them in particular way, they will be essay to memorize their spelling
