I am writing you with regard to your application to our MA *******
As chairperson of the Board of Examiners for this MA program we have received the request to explain the formal reasons for not considering your application.

In your case the academic institution where you have received your BA degree (***** University) is not recognised in Germany. As a public university we can only register students who fulfil this criterion. We have a national agency with the task of officially recognising foreign school and university certificates (as a prerequisite for entering our acdemic institutions or job market), and even specific degrees from each of these institutions. To our surprise, and in contrast to thousands of other US institutions, your university is not included in the list. I am perfectly aware that ****** University is recognised by US agencies but this is not relevant.

I hope that this clarifies our decision.
