Entry clearance applications (made overseas) will cost £255 for the main applicant and £255 for each dependant.

Postal leave to remain applications (in the UK) will cost £386 for the main applicant plus £193 for each dependant applying at the same time

In-person leave to remain applications (in the UK) will cost £702 plus £351 for each dependant applying at the same time


Fees for Post-Study Work applications will also be increased:

The Government has announced that charges for immigration applications under the Points-Based System will increase from 6th April 2011. These include applications for leave to remain as a student and applications for Post-Study Work.

Student applications will be affected as follows:
• Entry clearance applications (made overseas) will cost £255 for the main applicant and £255 for each dependant
• Postal leave to remain applications (in the UK) will cost £386 for the main applicant plus £193 for each dependant applying at the same time

For this reason, we would encourage any students who are intending to make an immigration application in either of these two categories to do so as soon as possible provided they can already demonstrate that they have met the requirements for the application they intend to submit. If you can provide evidence that you already meet the requirements then you can make an application. If not, please do not make an application, as this is likely to result in a refusal and you will incur additional costs associated with a second application.
